This page shows how Cadence tools are used at SFSU to teach IC design, as well as links to tutorials we have developed that teach IC design and the use of Cadence tools. We are currently using the Cadence Virtuoso AMS for the analog IC design (engr445) the advanced analog IC design (engr849) and radio-frequency IC design courses (engr890), Cadence Allegro for the PCB design in the Electronics Lab (engr301)
Link to tutorials that teach IC design and Cadence Tools:
- Introduction to Cadence Virtuso Schematic Composer
- Simulation using Spectre
- Introduction to Vitruso Layout Editor
- Verilog
Case Studies that used Cadence tools:
- Operational Amplifier Design (under the construction)
- Low Noise Amplifier Design (under the construction)
- VCO Design (under the construction)
Classes that use Cadence Tools:
- ENGR 301 Lab of Introduction of Microelectronics
- ENGR 453 Digital IC Design
- ENGR 848 Digital VLSI Design
- ENGR 445 Analog IC Design
- ENGR 890 RFIC Design
